Ah man! to Ooo...

Life is full of unexpected surprises. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it makes you want to pull your hair out in frustration... and on rare occasions it can actually be both.
How you might ask? Well, let me tell you...

Today i was at the thrift store seeing if i could find some skirts for my mission (sadly I found nothing). I turned only to unhappily discover that my beloved pair of shoes (shown above) snapped at the toe rendering me with one good shoe and one flopping off my ankle. Great. Not wanting to embarrass myself by walking around the store barefoot, i quickly shuffled over to the shoe section and frantically looked for a pair of flip flops or something. Found some and quickly stuffed my old broken pair into my bag (that was awkward, i waited till no one was looking so they wouldn't think i was stealing from D.I.- how sad would that be?)

So i happily finished my shopping in a pair of plastic, bright blue, Hawaiian flip flops. Not wanting to purchase the shoes i threw my old shoes back on shuffled out the door. Luckily there is a Payless just across the way so i simply took off the sad broken shoe and carried it. It was a little weird to be crossing one busy street and a large and very full parking lot with only one shoe on, eh, it happens.

The ladies at Payless were very helpful (luckily it's not weird to be barefoot in a Payless!) They didn't have the same shoe so i was left to finding a new pair. I opt for spending a little more than i wanted to under the circumstance, but i'd figure i'd get a lot more use out of these beauties than i would with cheap replacement flip flops that i couldn't wear on campus. I must say though, i love them!

I was pretty bummed about losing my favorite shoes (they seriously went with everything!) But i think i gain an equally versatile (and cute!) edition to my wardrobe. They more than met the requirements: cute, easy to throw on, durable, comfortable, AND at an afforable price.

So don't get too discouraged next time disaster strikes. You may end up appreciating the moment.
