"You are called to represent the Savior. Your voice to testify becomes the same as His voice, your hands to life the same as His hands. His work is to bless His Father's spirit children with the opportunity to choose eternal life. So, your calling is to bless lives.."
"your call has eternal consequences for others and for you. In the world to come, thousands may call your name blessed, even more that the people you serve here. They will be the ancestors and the descendants of those who chose eternal life because of something you said or did, or even what you were... You see, there are no small callings to represent the Lord."
Henry B. Eyring, "Rise to Your Call," Ensign, Nov. 2002, 76
I am very anxious and excited to serve. The more i talk to people, research online, and study i'm just filled with enthusiasm and gratitude to be found worthy to serve and represent my Lord and Savior. What an exciting work i get to engage in!
Forget school, i wanna get out there.
But, i can't forget to pack!
I had a nightmare the other night where i woke up in fright because somehow i forgot to pack for the next 18 months of my life. 2 hours before my flight leaves for the MTC and we're heading out the door... i simply open my suitcase and carelessly throw the content of my closet into it trying to fill up the empty space. Hoping i have everything, I head out the door with half empty luggage and a puzzled expression, "How could i forget to pack?"
Thank goodness that was just a dream!
Guess what this is?
It's my mission pen! Russell who i worked with at the Crossroads made this for me (He's the chief at the Teton Grill). It pulls apart and has the capability for refillable ink cartridges. His hobby is making pens and he loves giving them to people. He'll take some wood and shape it to fit the little gears for the pen (once he made one out of the cob of the corn, that one was super cool). He told me when i got my calling to come back and let him know so i can earn my pen. He made me this out of beautiful mahogany. Gave it to me so long as i promised to write in my journal everyday while on my mission. Will do Russell! No problem.
I'm a little excited, can you tell?
