Project #1

Media Experimentation Class:
- Photograph a single object and create a realistic photo rendering with oil paints on 9"x12" hardboard panel
-estimated time: 40-50 hours
-grade based on accuracy and attention to detail. Finished matted piece will be displayed with original photo directly underneath.
Well, thus far- it's been a huge challenge. Having little experience with oil paints, i quickly learned that it's not a project you can procrastinate, even in the smallest amount.

-oil paints have a 6 month complete drying time (we add liquin which shortens the time to approx. 17 hours so that we can add layer upon layer quicker- when completely done it still takes a few weeks/months to solidify completely)

This project is due Monday- we had 2 weeks to work on it.

It's honestly been a very fun, just time consuming. My teacher, Bro. Huntsman, suggested a few things and said i'm doing great. Looks forward to the completed piece. Should be fine.

So as soon as i'm done with this blog post i'll check to see if it's dry enought and hopefully get to sit down and add the finishing touches! ;) Wish me luck!
