We stopped at the turn off the main road to the dirt road and climbed in the back of one of the guy's truck. It was really cool in that they had taken the cushions off their sofa and laid them down on the back, then took ropes and strung them across the back so that we could go over all the bumps and such and not get hurt or fall out. :) The driver was very good and checked and made sure we were all ok after a particularly good joshing. honestly we didn't go very fast but it was amazing as we were going through the big trees and snow started falling... so cool! very cold.

There was a ton of us, which made it all the more fun! We had the fire and passed/ threw smore supplies at each other. :) He he he. then whipped out the starbursts which are amazing when roasted.
After a while, we organized a game of sardines which took a while. We divided and scoured the area for the hidden couple. It was so fun since the place we hiked down into created kind of a bowl with lots of variation of enviroment- a really dense forest section, a more flat plain, some grassy areas, then a whole section of boulders and fallen trees to hike and climb over! Oh man I wish we could have seen it during the daytime- it would be so beautiful!
Anyways, hiked back up the 5 minute trail and climbed back into the bed of the truck... got to the road and we're like, "We're fine, keep going till we hit the sand dunes..." So we get onto the paved road that's like in the middle of nowhere and obviously we're going to be driving faster. Well, i about died from the cold! We didn't think it would be so bad because we were back there on the dirt road- but going really fast it's like 10 billion times colder! We huttled together and pulled our hats over our ears and just sat there for a good ten minutes- but the wind factor just made it miserable. After a while our driver stopped and we all scrambled to the car! Brrr.... lesson learned. Found out later that it was 28 degrees without the wind chill that night. Ouch. Got a little sick the next day but so worth going on the date!

Your dad is gonna die when he reads this. Where were the SEATBELTS? :)
Yes, i know... i'm a little rebel! ;)
Well, if you consider the ropes that were latched across the back- those served as our safeguards- plus we were in the middle of nowhere! So i didn't fear getting into a car crash... ;) Don't worry- we were safe!
