Camelback... again!

Woke up one day and heard that our "snow birds" were in town. Dan and Shell's family came over president's day weekend, which of course, caused a major scale cousin swap. Where did i end up? With the group that stayed the night over at Grandma/pa's house. We wanted to get up early and hike Camelback mountain (i love this trail, can ya tell by now?). Uncle Dan tried recruiting some boys to come with but ended up a car full of girls! He's a great sport for coming.

After a wonderful pancake breakfast at the Hakes motel (literally, with great-grandma, Robin, their foster daughter (her name escapes me), Dan and Shell, Faith, Hannah and I, it was a full house!) grandpa loaded us into his truck and dropped us off at the starting point. This ended up being a good thing because 1. the nearest open parking space was about a mile away 2. we could hike to the top and then down to the other side, which is something i've never done before.
Happy to report that all made it to the top and bottom without too much difficulty. What a fun day!
