Sunday was very peaceful in California. We decided to pack a lunch, throw in our Ensign and head to the beach for a ocean side sunday service.
The only rule was that we had to remember it was the Sabbath so we couldn't swim but we could get our feet wet; but upon arrival, both Faith and Jake were knee deep in the salty water!
The water here was deeper so the waves didn't break until they were literally on the shore. Not an ideal beach for water activities but great for a laid back Sunday afternoon. There was still plenty to do. We collected seashells on our brief walks, watched dolphins and sea lions playing only a few yards out, Dad read to us a couple ensigns as we ate a lunch of turkey sandwhiches, we made sand sculptures and dug holes, and scared away the hungry seagulls. I was even able to try my hand at some photography.

That's right near where I grew up! Sounds like you had a great trip. Church on the beach sounds ok to me! :)
