"One year older and wiser too!..."

Yes, yesterday was my birthday! Here's my cake: my mommy sent me a birthday box filled with all the dry ingredients for the classic Birtcher Birthday cake. Yum!

Here's the highlight of my special day. (mind you i'm abbreviating here, if you want all the cute dialogue and such- call me)
So Josh last Sunday was texting me, after a while he was like, "Hey your birthday is next Saturday right? ... I would love to take you out to celebrate if you don't mind." Of course i'd like to!Throughout the week he kept everything a secret as to what our plans would be.

So Saturday morning comes and at he runs over (being 25 minutes late) and we start our date. We had to go out in the morning because he had family coming in unexpectedly at the last minute. Anyways he askes if i like to golf. yes... but there is no place to golf around here... he reaches to the back of his car and pulls out 2 golf clubs and some golf balls. The funny thing was, we were still on campus. Turns out he had set up different "holes" all over campus and marked each spot with "Hole #1, etc." on some stationary (which he went out and bought) and had written on the back where the next hole was and a letter which spelled out something at the end.

We played and played, taking turns setting up the cup which was our hole- making it increasingly more difficult by having us start on like the first floor, get onto the elevator, and up to the third floor in a classroom. Talk about fun!
Finally we get to the last one and i get to unscrabble the letters. After some difficulty i found out it spells "NORDIC" which is where i work and where we first met. So we walked down to the nordic, up to my cashier station- and the cashier hands me a bag.

Inside was 3 cookie mixes and a note reading:

Happy Birthday Kacie!
I'm sure you have a lot of cookie mix, but these are different. According to how you played you have to make these cookies with me. If i won...
3/9 holes- you make 1 of them with me.
6/9 holes- you make 2 of them with me.
9/9 holes- you make all 3 of the with me.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

needless to say, he get's another 2 dates.

So after that amazingly fun AND creative activty, he goes to drop me off but grabs his ukelele and we walk up to my apartment. Inside he played and sang Happy Birthday to me along with my two other roommates who were home. Let me tell you, that boy can sing. :)
He left shortly thereafter to get ready for his family coming in.
So ya, that certainly made my day!

Thank you JOSH!

"Happy Birthday to me, happy birthday to me..."

So, about this Josh person - is he a returned missionary? Do I need to be worried??? ;)
