Just recently I was named top art student of the class of 2008! How cool is that! I received a $600 scholarship (cash) and was invited to attend the Honor's Breakfast where only the top like 100 students get to attend with their parents. (see picture below- that's my fabulous art teacher) So exciting! I recieved a really nice plaque and certificate of achievement, and got my check a couple days later. It was a very competitive competition in which i had to display all my best art work from my time here at Mountain View, then wait and wonder if you'll even place. There was a lot of people going for it (people in jewlery, photography, ceramics, drawing....) and i was named top dog! YES! I've been working towards this competition for over a year, which made winning it just that much better. :)

Is that really your teacher? She looks young enough to be in high school herself. That is an amazing accomplishment. Wow! Way to go, Kacie. Awesome prize money too!
