So Saturday comes around and Heather and the kids stop by to hang out. I'm like, "Heather! This is perfect! You can help me ask my date to Sadie Hawkins!" She most generously agreed to assist me and we gathered the finishing touches.
My plan was to have someone deliver a pizza to my guy friend's door. But in the pizza taped to the inside lid, it would say this....
"Hey Cowboy,
Best grab your boots and hat cuz someone wants to take you to the dance!"
(Our theme is a Western, cowboyish thing)
My name was hidden underneath the actual pizza on this protected piece of paper.
We were going to have that someone, walk to the door, act like a real pizza deliver guy (how hard can it be) and says something clever, and leave.
Ok, so now you know what the plan is....
Here's what happened.... :)
We grab one of Nate's hats to make her look a little bit more official. We drive to his house and i jump in the back to watch the scene.
Heather walks up to the door, rings the doorbell, and waits... and waits... and waits... his parents finally opens the door and she blanks. :) [I had made contact with his parents earlier so they were expecting someone, or something to show up] They were all smiles and invited her in. She was like, "shoot, this is not how we planned it in the car!" But she goes in anyways. She just stands there (she later told me all this later cuz i was still stuck in the back of my jeep and couldn't see anything going on inside!). They were silent for a while, his mom was all giggly and asked her if she needed John. The rest of the story is pretty basic. Mom get's John, she gives him the pizza, talks casual, turns, walks out the doorway... but then opened it up again and says, "Oh don't worry, it's already been paid for!". And leaves.
Now i had given her the keys so it looked like she was driving by herself.... he he he :)
By the time she gets in the jeep and starts the car... I sit up only to see the windshield wippers going back and forth with the water spraying on the glass and her just laughing her head off cuz she can't drive my car! She blindly grabs the control stick and switches it to "drive" only to realize she's in reverse! I quickly jump over the seat and turn on her lights for her only to hear a clarifying "Aahhhh....". :) We laughed so hard it was great!
So we discussed/analyized his reactions and such all the way home.
