* Nate *

Mr. Nate decided that running blind through a golf field at night for a game of infieltration (excuse the spelling) was a great idea to make youth conference a little more interesting (not that it wasn't already a blast, but hey, he's a boy... that's what boys do :) ). So running full speed, Nate "trips" over the golf cart trail railing and lands on his ankle wrong. Thinking it was just a good twist, he gets up and continues to play the game. It was only when he got within the light of the cabin that he realized an ankle with a tennis ball protruding from its side had to have something delicatly wrong with it. Of course all the leaders (especially the women) pampered him, icing his foot, sitting with him when the others were playing games, getting food for him, etc. Unfortunutally, i was not there to harrass him (i went home the night before so i could take my SAT testing which by the way i think i did really well on...), but because i was already planning on returning after the test, my mom dubed me as substitute mom as she shoved crutches and restricting boots and cards and chex mix with exclusive instructions on how his leg should be proped up and such. Needless to say, Nate got the most attention all at once from our ward from just that one insident. Here is some quotes i picked out from bishop before our testimony meeting, they went something like this.....

"At everyone of our trips, someone has to get hurt or injured, we would like to thank Nate for taking care of that for us."

"We would now like to ask you, if inspired, to bare your testimonies, oh and please stand up when you do so... with Nate as the exception, he can just raise his hand." (he was sprawled across the couch with his leg proped up; not only does he get the good seat, but the rest of us had to endure the carpeted floor)

So, after all the attention... the final verdict is that it's a sprain and he'll be in a boot thing for around 4 weeks. Don't get me wrong, he is disappointed that he has to miss football practices and such, but i don't think he mind at all the reaction at youth conference. :)

Oh, Nate. I'm sure he would trade all that attention for the time on the field. Will he be back and ready for football camp? What a bummer.
