Speaking of which, I've mentioned a couple times that I'd like to do costumed models (or a different pose for that mater, like 5 minute gesture drawings- he finally came around for that one, very fun stuff- he's pretty cool). So when the secretary came in with an army uniform suggesting that we use it for class, i practically fell off the drawing horse (quite literally). He wasn't going to use it (it's not technically in the syllbus), but in recalling my previous request he asked me if i'd like to use it. I said YES! and we sent the model off to get dressed. He didn't think the class as a whole were ready for fabrics so he put me in the corner with my own personal model! How often does that ever happen? uh... never. Especially in a class that only get's two models.
So that was pretty neat. He approved two other students to come over to the corner and we all crammed in, just having the time of our lives. Our model (John Thomas- yes that's his FIRST name), was super tired so we had to keep him talkin. He did great, no need for breaks, found out that his wife is expecting their first child, so we all shared in his excitment.
It really was a great drawing day too so that helped.
I love life's little surprises.
