Then there was trying to supress a wondering, anxious, excited, and slightly nervous feeling all during my meetings and classes (it was work let me tell ya!).
I finally get out of class and have 3 1/2 hours to wait! All with it sitting proudly front and center on our entertainment center. I cleaned, I baked, and tried figuring out skype. Friends begin to arrive and then...
the internet cuts out.... panic.
My roommate grabs her computer and we log into skype. Thankfully her computer was able to pick up the weak internet signal. After more troubles there, I make sure everyone can at least hear me and tear the flap on that beautiful white envelop... and then with pure joy I read
"Dear Sister Birtcher: You are hereby called to serve as a missionary... You are assigned to labor in the Argentina Neuquen Mission." Spanish speaking, Provo MTC, report August 17th! (which happens to be 2 days after my availability date!)
Disbelief & relief. Wow, I'm actually gonna serve, and in Argentina! Oh wow!
At that point I'm kind of grateful my friends all left, though I was grateful for their love and support with them being there, they are all so awesome! I was a little more distracted by making sure my family and parents knew and heard. (I actually don't know how many people showed up, i was busy with the computers and when i turned around, the entire apartment was filled, in the kitchen, on the floor, crowded by the door, it was amazing really)
So now i'm happily reviewing my packet and reading about my mission president and his wife (He was actually born in Pocatello, Idaho), looking up pictures of Argentina and doing a little research about the area. Ruth and I are racking our brains trying to figure out who's served in Argentina that we know that i can talk to. Exciting stuff!
And a big thank you to everyone who shared this wonderful, exciting exeperience with me! You are awesome!
Ready, willing, and EAGER to serve,

Kacie! I am so excited for you! Brig (my hubby) went to Argentina so if you need someone to talk to, he would love to! He went to Rosario! He says you're going to be coooold in the winter :)
I'm so glad someone made that video clip!!! Now I finally got to see you open your papers and that is a privilege I wasn't sure I'd get!!! But I did get to hear you open them and that was exciting in and of itself!!! What an exciting time in your life!!! Y que bien que vas a hablar en espanol :)!!! Te amo mucho!!!
How happy we are for you. And it's so exciting to be a missionary. Your Mom's cousin, Sharon Coleman(Lundgren)'s husband Mike served in Argentina and I met a sister in the temple whose daughter served a mission there. Sorry, you're not the first but you'll be one of the best!
Love, Grandma
