Amy Ruben texted me today inviting me to Slacklining in the I-center. I went and oh man, it was challenging, but oh so much fun!
It's a rather tricky sport, got to have the right tension of the ropes, proper balance, right hip and footwork... we cheated and held each other's shoulders during training. We got to where we could go a few steps without assistance, though! Sometimes we were able to do a full short line. It was really fun to see the few people who were really talented at it, they were hoping and jumping from rope to rope, one even did a 180 and several did running jump mounts. Our mutal friend Darrik is very talented at it, i just wanted to run and push him off, not that i ever did. He was very daring and was fun to watch!
Amy and I hope to return next week dressed as ninjas, with score cards.
Don't ask. It made sense at the time.
