The new BYU-Idaho Center and MC Dedication

Friday, December 17, 2010

The new auditorium is finally opened! They held a beautiful dedication where Elder Bendar, Eyring, and Nelson were in attendance. They all talked about the sweet inspiration the Lord has for this building and this campus. They taught us of the struggles this school has financially but we still are able to provide quality education with an affordable tuition. The choir and orchestra sang sweet hymns of praise and gratitude expressing our mutual excitement and gratitude for these new buildings.
Elder Erying gave the dedicatory prayer and at it's conclusion we were able to explore the new building and facilities and let me tell you, it is BEAUTIFUL! The Church has some great architects, not only is the building functional, aesthetically pleasing, and practical, it also has a flair of well, sophistication, which says, "Yea, THIS is BYU-Idaho." It's certainly caught the spirit of ricks that Elder Eyring talked about at the transition from Ricks to BYU-ID. I'm so glad to be at this school!!

What a blessing!
This was one of the last times my roommates were able to be together. One's already missing as she (Stephanie) left early to meet her boyfriend (*cough*... finance), Miriam graduated, and Marchella is heading home and switching colleges to be with her soon to be fiance. These girls are great and i will miss them terribly. What a fun semester we had together!

On a random side note: the night before the dedication i had to pull an all-nighter. Miriams rather large family rolled into town that evening and filled our entire living room, which made pulling an all-nighter a whole lot harder (no snacks, got to be quite, etc.). Made it through somehow and didn't even fall asleep in the dedication though i was a completly blubbery all throughout the program. I noticed that when one is already tired and then you put them in a spiritual environment, it drops all their defenses and the tears just spill over with happiness. How thankful i am for this gospel and the new auditorium. Next semester is going to be wonderful!
