Faith Leads to Miracles

Coming home from Grandpa's house on Christmas Eve we realized that something wasn't right, there was no noise, all was quiet...our doggie wasn't in the backyard!!! Dad and Weston hopped in the car and went searching while the rest of us prayed and continued to get ready for Christmas the next morning. 2am and still Buddy's missing. Unsure of what to do, we all go to bed hoping he'll be there waiting for us on the front porch the next morning.

Christmas morning comes and goes... we all had a wonderful time opening presents, laughing, and joking with each other- but there loomed a feeling of worry and concern. We continue to pray and Dad and Faith ran out putting up missing dog posters and searched the back alleys on a motorcycle.
About 5pm we hear a knock at our door and Bishop Lowden's there saying, "hey, we've got your dog over at our place..." I guess he was too scared he wouldn't get in the car with Bishop and we had to go get him. Course we freak and hop in the car. What a blessing! He ran to Bishops!

Prayers were certainly answered that day. We were later told that Buddy had hung around Bishop's place for about 4 hours. Bishop's wife who had grown up with Brittanies noticed him and kept an eye on him. After seeing him linger, he sent Bishop and the grandkids out there to investigate. My mom hypothesised that Buddy had caught my mom's scent, she was there picking up my mission papers (for me!!) just the day before, so he was lingering. We found that he was all scratched up- just on his legs though, very smelly, and that his nails were super short and bleeding. He had to be digging like crazy or something. His paws are all swollen and dirty and he's been kind of mellow and tired this past day or two, he was so dehydrated and hungry it was so sad to see. My dad thinks that he might have been stolen (he is a purebred and we have seen some suspicious looking black truck looming in our neighborhood) and he had dug himself out, or he had fallen in somewhere in his wandering and couldn't get out. I guess we'll never know for sure of Buddy's Christmas adventures but we are SO glad that he's back!!

Each member of our family had a different experience/ reaction with our answer to prayers. My mom mentioned she was in the shower and the thought came to her, "If just a little bit of faith can move mountains, then the Lord can pick up that little doggie and put him in a place were we can find him." A little while later Buddy's rescuer showed up at our doorstep.

Despite our wave of emotions this Christmas, it was neat to have yet another opportunity to see the Lord's care and concern in our life. Our Buddy provided a chance to see the Lord's handiwork in providing us with a miracle. He was far away from where he was supposed to be, and the Lord lead him back to us. How grateful i am for my own chance to be guided and directed by a loving Heavenly Father. A little faith and a little prayer can provide outstanding results.
