The Joy in Being Simple

The other day my dad noticed just how easily amused i can be, and i just had to laugh because it's true! Last week, I was helping make dinner when i got a random impusle to make jello. You know, the kind that you can cut into little jigglets and stack in a big fancy dish, add a dalop of whip cream and eat with a smile. So I did! And it was great. Faith and Jake joined me.

Or like today, i got onto msn.com, and they had a little blurb with a delicious looking cake and the recipe attatched in the corner; so what did i do instead of laundry and getting to bed on time? I made a cake! Not to eat, but to just look at. It didn't work out the way it was supposed
to...in fact, it was a disaster; but Faith and I had a great time trying to make it look pretty with our left over easter candy!

What about just lying in the front yard and enjoying the sunshine while talking with your mom or reading your scriptures? Or how bout driving to work with the windows down, radio playing, sunglasses and an open freeway?

So to celebrate in my simpleness... here is a list of my latest joys in life:

New shoes

Reading Romeo and Juliet out loud with Weston. Ha ha... ya, good times. :)

Two words, free laundry.

The pleasure that someone is thinking of you when you feel vibration coming from your front pocket or purse.

Making your bed in the morning.

The feeling of relief when i walk through my front door. It's like paradise.

Favorite date: bike ride around and over Tempe Town Lake and homemade dinner in his backyard. Cost= very litte, Bonus points in my book= infinite.

Late night calls from your roommates. (when minutes are free!!)

Staying up way too late talking with ya little sista. (without the knowledge of her parents, wait... whoops!)

The colors baby blue and barn red. Side-by-side. (Why that makes me so happy, i have no idea. It's kind of odd.)

Patiently listening to your brother's play-by-play recap of their last sporting event while you're brushing your teeth. Absolutely no idea what they are saying, but simply enjoying their presence and the fact that they want to share their excitement or disappointment with you.

Playing outside.

Some call it spring fever.
Guess what... they're probably right.
