I have a job through a family in our ward (They have hired all of us older kids while we're home to do some basic marketing for their company). It's nice to have some work, but it just doesn't give me enough hours or wages to really rebuild my depleted savings account (thanks college).
I was on facebook (as usual) and my friend's younger sister whom i knew, had posted as her status "Anybody looking for a job? able to work from 12:30-5:30?" -Aubrey Gibson. Well, i immediately posted and we talked back in forth about a receptionist job opening at her dad's work. I asked what he did and found out he is a lawyer and the opening is at his law firm. I asked for more information, (not seriously thinking i could be hired- most people who train and hire receptionists want them there for a long time) she emailed me the next day with a name and number to contact if i was interested.
I called the lady twice and left a message.
In the mean time, i went ahead and applied to several different stores and companies around the neighborhood. I have a friend who just got accepted to work at SPROUTS as a cashier so i went ahead and submitted a resume online and made the effort to run down there and meet the store manager. All that effort, nothing, not even a phone call.

A few day later i got called back from the law firm asking me to submit a resume and set up an interview appointment for the next week.
One thing led to another, and very quickly, i was placed at the front desk to learn EVERYTHING about this law firm, for i will be taking over a good bulk of the order and general maintenance of the place!
And for the record, i absolutely love working here at Gibson Ferrin!
I get good wages, good hours, and the environment is playful yet very professional.
The main reason this all worked out and they are totally fine with me leaving in April is that currently, they are going through some drastic changes in the company as Riggs, the final law group in Gibson Ferrin & Riggs, decided to move out and start a new law firm with his brother. That makes, everything, literally, have to be readjusted and changed.
Every business card,
letterhead,
stationary,
envelope,
website,
sign,
court papers,
and phone number, etc.
has to be renamed or replaced!
And that's what I'm here for, to help them through the total ciaos, or as some of them affectionately call it, "the divorce".
By the time everything is situated, rearranged, and settled, (which could take months) the new girl they'll hire in April, can take over a manage the new system i help create.
What a blessing! I've estimated that in just 11 weeks time, i can earn a little over three grand. That right there is almost half my mission fund!
I can manage college and those funds with my job back in ID, but i really did need an financial boost if i were to serve a full time mission. Well, here is the Lord stepping in on my behalf and allowing me to find the perfect job, one that i love, and will get me the money i will need for my future!

Awesome. I was a file clerk (and also filled in for the receptionist when she went on break or was out sick) at a law firm growing up for many summers during high school and college and part-time during high school. Good experience. Watch out...you may end up marrying a lawyer someday like I did. :)
