Stake Service Project

Our Stake held a service project at the local Madison Fair Grounds. I've never been there before but there is a lot of events held in this nice big area.

A bunch of us for the ward hoped into our RS President's car and headed out there! Love these girls! They are so fun to be around. :)

Those weeds had gotten pretty tall. They were fun to pull out.

We pulled and pulled them weeds, and pilled them into a huge stack that got loaded onto a truck. Some of them were really quite stubborn and without gloves we got several thorns in our fingers! But that's ok! The fair grounds look great now!

After pulling for a good while, they whipped out the paint buckets and had us paint all the railings and such. Funny thing was, they didn't have enough paint brushes for the entire stake, so they decided to use the cheap work gloves some had used for pulling up weeds. We put on rubber gloves then added one of the gloves on top. We carried our styraphome cups filled with paint and we dipped our gloves into it and rubbed it all over the railings. It was very amusing to do and i just though, "oh dad would just die if he saw how we are painting!" What was even funnier was that periodically the bottom of one of the cups would bust and paint would get EVERYWHERE! Luckily, we were outside and didn't really matter, but this one girl i was painting with, her's broke and we were on the bleachers... so we just spread it around and made it look as good as we could, but there will forever be a big splash of paint on the concrete there. Oops!!
