Someone once came through my line and said this,
"Sure, summer break starts this Friday, but to get there, i've got to pass through hell..."

I laughed so hard since it was a fairly acurate description of finals week! Not only is their last minute projects and finals to study and take, but there is also the infamous white glove and packing to do all at the same time!

Here's a few of the joy's of final weeks:
-book buy backs!
-ride arrangements
-formal dance finals
-the random food combinations for about 2 weeks because we don't want to go shopping for groceries
-calling home and realized that in just a few short days, i'll be sleeping in my own bed, eating amazing food (that i don't have to cook!), and playing with the siblings! (Oh, and opening my new laptop! It just arrived at home)

I'm so impatient to get home!

So to make sure i'm not going to come home and get sucked back into doing absolutely nothing over my break, here's some thing i'd like to do at home:

-buy a new camera
-keep drawing and building my portfolio (I wonder if i can get Faith, Jake, or even Nate to hold still long enough for me to get it down on paper..)
-read something new that's both fun and relaxing
-go running with Buddy in the wee hours of the morning when it's still fairly logical to go running outside
-go see Harry Potter with my siblings that haven't seen it yet!
-help Faith redecorate our room (including painting and cleaning out my junk)
-GO TO THE LAKE! FOR HEAVEN SAKES, this dream has kept me going this semseter! Just knowing that in a few short weeks, i'm going to have 5 blissful days of living out on the lake, sigh... my summer va-k will be complete :)

All in all, i just really can't wait to listen to my own music (i've been listening to my roommmate's for FAR too long... not bad at all, just not like the good stuff) and see my family and friends. Just thinking of all the times we'd go over to Grandma and Grandpa Hakes made me crave home even more. So excited! Only a day and a few short hours to go! Whoot!

I remember those days of longing for home. Are you doing all the fun things you planned on? You have big plans! I hope the lake was great. We're having some cooler weather here, so hopefully you guys are too. I must say though, your nylon faces are scary...I don't think I'll show the kids...we don't need any nightmares, you know. ;)
