Pond Skimming!

Once a year during the winter spirit week here on campus, the students hold the classic tradition of pond skimming! It's where crazy (or just bored) students take on the task of dressing up in random costumes, grabbing a snowboard (or other sledding devices) and slidding down a mountain of snow onto a large man-made pond. The goal is to get to the other side before completely falling in, i'd say only about 5 people managed to do it fairly well (only 1 person i saw actually managed to barely get wet). The rest are for pure entertainment as we watch them crash and slide their way into the freazing water. Think only a few crazy people would sign up for it? Well we had about 140 willing people who signed up to do it. It took over 2 hours to complete, my roommate and I were frozen by then so we left a little early.


Oh it was too fun! I cringed every time they crashed dramatically into the pond. Oh, so cold! Lots of fun though!Here is the video of the one guy who completely made it across the pond.I'm sure he won that category's prize.
