Wednesday morning we wake up to find the valley of the sun being invaded by rain clouds- only for them to break open 'round 7:30am and spill their contents upon us. Normally not an issue- in fact, we're normally excited for the rain! But today we (Robbie, Annessa, and I) were planning on hiking camelback mountain in phoenix, and it's normally very difficult in the rain seeing as it's 90% straight uphill with hand rails in the steepest parts, and all rocks. But, we'd figure we'd drive out their and if it's still bad, well then i guess we know our answer.
We head out there to find that it's just drilling every now and then so we figure we're safe. Turns out it was BEAUTIFUL! The rain had washed away all the city pollution and had dampened the earth and plants, etc. and my favorite smell of all times is a desert right after a good rain. It's unbelievable and smells wonderful!!
The hike was not bad at all, a little slippery but you just had to watch your footing. On top it was wet and windy so we didn't linger too long. Down hill was a blast and Robbie led us off the trail and into this random creves on the mountain. Was a good hike, beautiful morning, wet, but still a lot of fun! The rain started pouring as soon as we got inside Robbie's nice warm truck. I believe it was an answer to prayers! :)
