Yup, it's true! Well, sort of... we were just helping with the photo shoot.
Our friend Brian works for the Scroll, in other words, the BYU-I paper. He's one of the photographers and needed photos of people watching conference at home. So, we got to be his subjects. :)
Conference weekend was a VERY busy weekend of homework for me. But I thoroughly enjoyed dedicating 8 hours to general conference. Saturday morning session i had Brian, Devon, and Trevor come over and we made blueberry muffins. They were so good! and we headed over to the lounge to watch conference on the TV. Saturday afternoon, Brian came back and we ended up watching it on my laptop. Sunday was just great in that i stayed in my pj's and curled up in a blanket while taking notes.
I really enjoyed Elder Holland's talk on angels- it was just presented with so much inspiration and power- i was in awe. I loved how he described becoming so pure- that angelic is the only word left to describe it. I hope to become that someday.
I admit, i did get a little teary eyed when the primary kids sang- "I am a Child of God". I just love that song and it was coming from the mouths of little children. Loved the spirit that it brought into the room. It was a little funny though when both them and the congregation sung a hymn together- we could hear both mature and little kid voices trying to mix -but the kids won because they had the microphones. :)
I was impressed by how many times we were spoken to concerning trials and afflictions in our near future. So, the moral is if you experience trials and afflictions any time soon- don't be too surprised, just lean on the savior and you'll be ok.
All in all, a really fun, spiritual weekend. I've gotten little sleep since probally last Thurs. since i've had about 20 hours of homework. No joke. But i've survived fairly well. :) It was really nice when i could just set everything aside and sit down and enjoy conference. It was great.
