4th of July!

Melissa and I weren't exactly sure what we should do for the fourth, so we just decided to hang out over at her place in Idaho Falls. Her parents were more than happy to entertain us while we were there.
We decided it would be eaiser if we just spent the night there rather than drive back so late. It was well worth the sleepover, it was way fun!
It's about a 30 minute drive to her house and when we pulled in, i couldn't believe it. She told me she lived next to the snake river, i just didn't realized how close it would be. From her front porch i could throw a pebble really hard it would fall into the river, (if i was really lucky- i can't hit anything).
The first thing her dad instisted upon was to take Melissa and i on a ride on their boat. He was so perstistant it was kind of funny- Melissa really didn't want to go but i was more than thrilled to get out there.
He litterally hooked up the boat to his truck and drove backwards- he had found a spot on their property that they made into dock. He put the boat in and we climbed in and off we went! It was a beautiful boat ride- very fun. He made us both drive it though we were terrified of running into the islands there was so many.
Afterwards we both jumped off the boat and ran over to clean flicks were we can rent clean edited movies. It's worth not having to worry about if something is inapprobriate. We watched the Devil Wears Pradas and Definately, Maybe. I like the first one but Definately, maybe was just confusing. Neither of us liked that one very much.
Her parents provided a T-bone steak dinner with potatoes and asparagus. Mmmmm....
It was Sooo... good! One- i didn't have to cook it, Two- it was really quite tasty.
We went and saw the fireworks afterwards a little later. (They didn't start until 10:10 because it wasn't dark enough- crazy huh?) The land around here is so flat that you could see firework shows way off in the distances behind the one you drove to see.
The show was really well done. They programed it with the radio station and had the fireworks go off insync to the music. It was very acurate too. I was impressed. :)
Melissa and i jump out of the car but quickly ran back in, unknowingly to us two- her parents had parked next to the river and it was swarming with nasty- bitting bugs. We hurried and jumped back into the car.

All in all, it was really a pleasant weekend. I did miss the family traditions and the family parties that were going on. It was kind of weird in that sense, but i still enjoyed myself thoughouly.
Melissa is practically an only child seeing that her two older sisters are like in their thirty's and moved out of the house when she was like 5. She gets the entire downstairs to herself. In addition to having her own floor, she has a whole room that's made into a movie theatre. The room is huge and they built risers for their six huge- overstuffed lazy boy type chairs. (Three on each row). The carpet is glow in the dark and she has a big screen that just sets it off nicely. :) It's so cool! We spent a lot of time in that room. It was awesome!
I loved talking with everyone that night! I talked with everyone at my house except Allie and Eliza (Allie was tired, and Eliza asleep- i'll have to call them sometime). Sounds like everyone had a great fourth!
Love you!
