Art Update

Well here you go, these are just a couple i have been working on. I have A LOT more better ones but they are all being entered into the State Fair. So these will have to suffice. :) Thanks for the use of your pictures! The drawing turned out great! I know these pictures here make it look really bad but i swear they look better in real life! We matted it in a navy blue which really brought out the colors. Also we fixed the one girl's face to make it actually look like a face :) I had to use Vincent Van Gogh's technique of colors and movement within it. Here's what it looked like without the added background...

And here it is with it.... :)

Like i said, i did make some more adjustments to them, i wish i had a picture of the final outcome cuz it was so cute!~ I guess you all will have to come down for my artist of the year display. I have to put up all of my best work on this huge display to be judged by local artists for a scholarship. We'll take pictures if you aren't able to come :)

And this is what i finished yesterday! Any guesses on who they are? Come on, i hope it's not that hard to recognize. *bitting nails* Anyways, i had a photo reference that Aunt Valree gave me. Again, this pictures just doesn't capture the essense of seeing the original piece in person. Feel free to come down and take a look! :) Still have a couple touchups to really make it pop, my teacher hasn't even seen it yet so it's still waiting for a critique.

These are great. I definitely noticed the Van Gogh influence on the sky. I'll have to share that with my cousins whose daughters are in that picture w/ mine. And as for the picture of Grandma and Grandpa Hakes, not only did I recognize them right off, I also remembered exactly the picture you're basing it on. They were out for a walk and their neighbor snapped it, I believe. Sweet.
